On March 18, 2022, "the Association of Alumni of Universities and Institutes of the USSR and Russia" held a “dialogue” meeting via the Zoom platform with the former cultural and media advisor at the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Russia in Lebanon Professor Sergey Alexandrovich Vorobiev entitled “Special military operation in Ukraine, dimensions and horizons, the image of the New World regime".
The seminar was attended by representatives of graduates of Soviet and Russian institutes and universities in the Arab world and a large number of graduates from Lebanon and Russia.
Professor Vorobiev began his symposium by noting the association's initiative to hold a debate on the situation in Ukraine, stressing that what is happening today is a sad thing for the brotherly nations of Russia and Ukraine.
He stressed that the first signs of the crisis began in 2014, when the Ukrainian government violated the Minsk Agreement, which provided the holding of free elections in Ukraine and the granting of autonomy to the Donbass region, against which the attacks have continued since then to this very day.
Vorobiev also touched on the difficult economic repercussions on Europe, stressing that Russia is used to sanctions and this American/Western decision has no value in light of the strong economic situation in Russia.
He stressed that the goal of the operation is to remove the Western threat from Russia's borders and continue to adopt peaceful solutions for the independence of the Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk.
After that, constructive interactions and discussions took place between the lecturer and the participants, which added value to what was mentioned previously during the discussions.
